Rennie is back to give back!

Do yourself a favour, make a cup of tea and sit down for 20 minutes to watch this clip. Nathan Rennie always was a bigger than life personality on the MTB race circuit and as a result his fan base ran deeper than most could even dream. In this frank and candid interview Nathan talks about what he’s been up to since leaving the World Cup circuit, his new sponsorship deal with long time sponsors, Santa Cruz Bicycles, and perhaps most excitingly he explains a heap of details about the riding camps that he’s running over in Queenstown, and hopefully throughout Australia soon as well. Its bloody good to see Nathan back. We want to sign up for a camp!

Sram DSD

Sure it looks like an F1 Team factory, but in fact this crazy looking facility is SRAM’s new Australian dealer service centre. We scored an invite to go check out last issue and seeing as though its pretty rare that you guys get to see what goes on behind the doors and inside the walls of the big players in the Aussie MTB industry, we thought we’d show you a few shots from the shoot.

Oakley RadarLock launch

Yesterday morning we were invited to attended the launch of Oakley’s latest eyewear creation, RadarLock. In front of a packed media house Oakley unveiled the new sports model which will be wrapping the faces of a truckload of athletes at the upcoming London Olympics. Fittingly, Oakley decided to host the launch to coincide with the 100 day countdown until the Games officially begin. RadarLock is the latest generation of the widely loved, Radar, model and is also the latest model to benefit from Oakley’s switchlock technology meaning that a lens swap-out can take place on the fly in a matter of seconds. We can assure you RadarLock’s are set to be a game changer on the market and you can expect to be seeing a lot more of them during the coming months/years…

Carbon VS Alloy

A little while back we ran a feature in the magazine looking at the ride differences between a carbon and an alloy frame. We received a heap of feedback about the article, and so we thought we’d head back out to the trails on our two identical custom built Santa Cruz’s and compare their riders a little closer.

How did your fantasy league team go last night?

And so with one round in the bag, Kent Hamilton (Team Shred) is leading the [R]evolution Magazine mini league within Dirt’s fantasy League competition. Kent had selected Minnaar, Mick Hannah, Stevie Smith, Delfs and Tracey Hannah and now tops the table with 851 points. I’m chuffed to say that I am currently sitting in second place with 755 points (although I’m not sure that I’d be the best candidate to win a life time subscription to the magazine!?) Other staff notables in the points race after last night is photographer extraordinaire TBS with 748 points and of course Stephen Hillenbrand who is coming DEAD LAST with just 38 points…!? Don’t forget you can swap your riders around before next race. If you haven’t already you can join our mini league by typing in our league pin number 838. If only we didn’t have to wait over two months till the next race…
