Trek have just unveiled an all new cutting edge version of their popular ‘ride it all and ride it all damn day long’ Rail+ e-MTB. Further bolstering Trek’s stunning 2025 e-Bike line up, the Rail+ is a full powered, long-range bike with more than enough travel and ‘gnar to handle any sort of trail you want to drop in on, or climb.
Boasting a premium level ‘full carbon’ frame with 160mm of plush suspension up front, balanced with 160mm in the rear. Now, what makes any bike super fun to ride? A playful nature of course. And Trek are delivering the ‘fun factor’ by the truck load with the new Rail+. To keep handling balanced in the steep sections of trail the bike runs a ‘mullet’ wheels set-up, with a 29˝ front and 27.5˝ rear wheel. Riders get the low rolling-resistance and trail-smoothing benefits of a 29er in rowdy terrain and the extra agility of a smaller rear wheel. Suspension travel wise the latest Rail+ comes packing.
Leaving ‘no stone unturned’ in their quest to create the ultimate ‘do it all’ full powered e-Bike, Trek opted to build the Rail+ around Bosch’s latest generation Performance Line CX motor. Boasting the same 85Nm of torque as previous Rail models, but with smoother, more refined-feeling support and less noise. Riders get all the benefit of a full-powered e-MTB with a more natural feeling, and sounding, ride.
In addition to the updated motor, Rail+ also gets a new Bosch PowerTube battery with Trek’s own updated Removable Integrated Battery (RIB 2.0). The new battery boasts a whopping 800Wh of support, compatible with PowerMore range extender for peak-to-peak epic rides. The optimized RIB 2.0 tech allows riders to secure and remove their battery with a quarter-turn of a hex key, while keeping their toes safe from a heavy hit thanks to a catch mechanism.
Compared to the previous generation Rail+, this new version gets some welcome updates to its geometry, with a slacker 64.5° head tube angle and new adjustable geometry features. Riders can tweak their bottom bracket height and head tube angle a half a degree thanks to Mino Link, and adjust leverage rate with the flip of a chip. Rail+ is also compatible with angle-adjust headset cups (sold separately) for going a degree slacker or steeper.
Best of all you won’t have to wait to check out the new Rail+ as they’re in stock on Trek dealer floors right across Australia & New Zealand right now! For more info head to: www.trekbikes.com/au
