Troy Brosnan wins the final World Cup for 2024!

It’s been far too long between visits to the top step of the podium for Troy Brosnan!

Never far from the top, but that elusive win was realised on the weekend. A win that paired with his consistency saw him take the second place overall for 2024. No small achievement against what has to be the fastest and most competitive field in dowhill the world may ever see.

Not only was this Troys first win since Leogang in 2021, it’s his first as a father. Proving some get faster in parenthood! Fog and rain made Mount Sainte-Anne a race to be remembered, with Troy taking off last to win by just 0.062 of a second in what can only be called challenging conditions

Just having a baby and not knowing if I’m even going to come to this race. Got the all-clear from the wife to go so I had to make it worthwhile, and this has been the best weekend of my life, felt amazing on the bike, my mind was just so free the whole weekend and honestly, I can’t believe I put that run down in the rain. I knew it was going to be tough, but everything was just flowing. I just knew I had to ride like it was dry and I guess it worked!”

With Frenchman Loïc Bruni already crowned 2024 DH champion, Laurie Greenland put down an excellent time in the murky conditions that Kiwi Lachlan Stevens-Mcnab just edged in front of to take second.

France’s Marine Cabirou coped with the conditions well to build her momentum towards the finish and edge out Gracey Hemstreet by 1.423s for the victory with newly crowned DH champion Vali Höll banking third over the slippery rocks and roots to round out yet another excellent season.
