With overnight rain it seemed as though the ‘Enduro Wet Series’ would be in full form once again. Instead, the trails were left in a condition which everyone in the bike park has been hoping for.
Stage one’s ‘Ride don’t Slide’ couldn’t have been in any better form, fresh loam served moist and grippy providing the best start to a race ever. Following on with a light shower and then sunshine for the next four stages.
Local boy Jesse Melamed was chasing Aussie Legend Sam Hill from the beginning of the day after Sam took out the first stage. It came down to the final stage of the day and final rider. Jesse in the hot seat watching on as Sam pinned it down on the live stream. To the crowd’s delight, Sam crossed the line behind time leaving Jesse with a win on home soil – taking out what he came so close to just last year.
