Maydena, Tasmania will be the venue for the National Mountain Bike Championships for the next two years commencing in 2021 from the 18-24th January.
It’s the first time the championships have been held at the Maydena Bike Park, with an expected 900 competitors chasing the green and gold jersey in Cross-Country, Downhill, Pump Track, E-Bike, Adaptive Cross-Country and Trials.
“We are extremely excited to be hosting the next two National Mountain Bike Championships at Maydena Bike Park. Our team is hard at work preparing brand new race courses for all race formats, which will showcase our stunning rainforest site”.
Maydena Bike Park Managing Director Simon French.
MTBA CEO Shane Coppin said the 2021 event will include a week-long racing schedule which will bring mountain bike enthusiasts from across the country.
“This year is exciting for many reasons with the national championships event a first under the AusCycling banner and also a first for the Maydena Bike Park and Tasmania. The Maydena trails are world class and I’m sure the riders cannot wait to get back racing at that high level on these challenging and demanding trails. We have had a great relationship with the team at Maydena Bike Park which hosted the 2019 Gravity Enduro National Championships and are confident they will again deliver an exceptional event.”
The 2021 will include activities such as the achievement awards, coaching/skills clinics and a Marquee National Cup Gravity Enduro round, 16th-17th, the weekend prior to the National Championships.
